As mentioned in my last post, available here, I have been very busy adding to and tweaking details within my Tickety Boutique business plan. I have my next meeting at Rise Asset Development on Friday. I am really looking forward to it.
I am working with a super cool gentleman named Steve who is helping me pull everything together before my application, business plan, and supporting materials to the April lending committee. We’re really coming down to the wire!! I think I am in good shape. I suppose we’ll see.
As part of the preparation process, I have been amassing the raw materials necessary to begin manufacturing some of the awesome accessories that will soon be available at the Tickety Boutique dot com.
I will be making necklaces, earrings, and brooches out of a fantastic material called shrink plastic (and various other findings) that will feature some of my original illustrations. In addition, I will be putting together some quilted tote bags, knitting some super cute riot grrrl dolls, and even knotting together some classic embroidery floss friendship bracelets.. and much, much more!!
This is all in addition to the fabulous vintage dress and skirt selection that will be available on the site. If you have ever visited the Tickety Boutique on Etsy, then you have a pretty good idea of what the vintage selection will look like. If you haven’t had the chance to check out our Etsy store, then you can expect a grand array of sundresses, a-line pieces, and even some cute and cozy moo moos!
I am so excited to bring you my carefully curated selection of vintage and handmade. I know that you are going to love it!!
You can expect the site and our Etsy space to re-launch sometime in April. The launch date had originally been set for March, but I had to push it back due to capacity being already met for applications at the March Rise lending committee. As I mentioned, I am hoping to get my application package in for the April committee, which will allow me to acquire my amazing vintage inventory for you all to enjoy.
I have already hand selected 100 vintage pieces to feature in the shop.
Once the site and Etsy space are prepared to launch, I will be posting promotional codes on the site’s Facebook page, so make sure to ‘like’ our page or you’ll miss out on a great deal!! The link is here. For now, that link takes you to the blog’s Facebook, but I will soon be merging the site and blog accounts, so don’t worry.. you’ve clicked to the right place.
Now, for a little sneak peak to what you can expect on Wednesday!
In addition to all of the raw materials I received today, I also got a whole butt load of incredible books on craftism that I plan to review. I can’t wait to share some of my selections with you. I have been getting really into the whole ‘craftism’ movement lately and am so inspired by all of the creative groups that have formed across world, adding craft to the physical environment to effect your perspective and bring attention to important causes.
